Lymphatic drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a special medical form of massage. It is part of the “complex physical decongestion therapy” and is used to treat congestion of tissue fluid.

Lymphedema occure as a result of a chronic, inflammatory disease of the interstitium (space between cells, tissues, organs) the lymphatic drainage is disrupted, causing fluid to build up in the tissue. This can be recognized by a clearly visible swelling. Lymphedema often occurs in the limbs; However, lymphedema can also form on the face. After traumatic damages, manual lymphatic drainage can shorten the healing time and provide pain relief.
